This small-group experience takes you through our greenhouse and key garden zones, sharing how we’re weaving Indigenous food plants, medicines, and permaculture-inspired design into an evolving food forest on Syilx territory.

You’ll see what’s currently in season, learn how we start and care for plants, and hear stories about the land, the weather, and the many hands that keep this place alive.

What’s Included

Welcome & Orientation

  • Arrival at nsisúlaʔxʷ Food Forest (11745 Westside Road)

  • Land acknowledgement and brief introduction to Studio sísp̓l̓k̓ and the food forest vision

  • Safety notes and what to expect on the walk

Greenhouse Visit

  • Tour of the greenhouse: seed starts, propagation, and seasonal rotations

  • Talk about Indigenous food and medicine plants

  • Q&A about soil, watering, and how we plan for Okanagan heat and drought

Garden Walk

  • Guided walk through key garden beds and developing zones in the food forest

  • Discussion of companion planting, pollinators, and how we’re expanding plant diversity across ~10 acres

  • Stories about specific plants, their uses, and how they connect to Syilx ways of knowing and being on the land

Closing Circle & Questions

  • Time for final questions, photos, and notes

  • Invitation to future events (Planting Blitz, Weed Party Wednesdays, etc.)

  • Optional farmstand/merch browse

Total time: 75–90 minutes, depending on group size and the number of questions.
